Specialist Imaging for Women is dedicated to ensuring the health and wellbeing of our patients, staff and community.
We are an essential service provider and have implemented the following changes to the way we deliver our care to you, to minimise the risk of transmission of COVID-19:
- Risk Screening
For the safety of our patients and our staff, we ask that if you are feeling unwell, have a fever, cough, respiratory or flu like symptoms, or have had close contact with a known COVID-19 case within the last 7 days, do not attend for your appointment. Contact us on 8609 4100 and we will reschedule your appointment.
- Hand Hygiene
Patients will be required to use hand sanitizer on arrival and before using the EFTPOS machine.
- Physical Distancing
Physical distancing has been identified as very important in stopping transmission of COVID-19, however it isn’t possible to perform your ultrasound without contact between patient and Sonographer. To provide the safest care to our patients, our Sonographers and Doctors will be wearing Personal Protective Equipment. Rest assured we are still smiling under our face masks!
Our waiting room has been modified to allow safe distance between patients. With limited chairs in the waiting room, patients may be asked to wait in their car or outside until a chair is available.
We ask that all patients and partners please wear a correctly positioned mask to your appointment. If your mask isn’t single use, a mask will be provided to you on arrival.
We are keenly aware that your ultrasound is a significant part of your pregnancy journey. Unfortunately, however, due to the evolving COVID situation in Melbourne, we are unable to accommodate children at this time.
Partners are welcome to attend for obstetric scans. Your partner must remain 1.5m from the sonographer in the scanning room
We thank you for your understanding of these necessary restrictions at this time.
- Areas of high usage or risk
The surfaces in our reception area, waiting room and bathrooms are disinfected frequently throughout the day. We have also removed the magazines, toys and additional furniture from the reception area.
The ultrasound rooms, ultrasound machines, probes and other medical equipment are disinfected between every patient. This takes time, so please be patient if this causes delays.
These procedures have been implemented to provide the safest care for you and our staff at this unprecedented time and we appreciate your understanding with the necessary modifications to our usual practice.
If you have any questions or concerns please contact us on 8609 4100
